What typing looks like in 2nd grade
In 2nd grade the top row brings in the vowels, so kids can suddenly type most of their spelling words. The standard (W.2.6) is still "with guidance and support," but many classrooms start short typed activities this year. A good weekly routine is one new lesson, one replay for stars, and one round of spelling words in Typing Practice. Expect accuracy to dip when new reaches arrive; that is normal and it comes back within a few sessions.
