About the Top Row Takeoff unit
The top row adds the vowels E, I, O and U, which unlock almost every English word. Each reach goes up and slightly left, then straight back to the home row. Kids who return home after every key make far fewer mistakes later.
How to reach the new keys
- E is one row up. Reach your left middle finger up and a little left from D, then come straight back home.
- I is one row up. Reach your right middle finger up and a little left from K, then come straight back home.
